The Audit Industry during COVID-19

Joseph Gauci  -  17/November/2020

The COVID-19 has changed the way audit firms operate. To meet existing and new clients’ demands, we continued to recruit specialists with relevant expertise and we have enhanced our ability to offer wider services to local businesses and attract more foreign clients.

Our investment in technology; coupled with our commitment to protect our staff, training and developing them, and placing a high priority on their wellbeing; enabled us to respond quickly and effectively to the Covid-19 pandemic. We were able to successfully and rapidly relocate all of our people to work from home using the latest technology.

The firm introduced a range of measures to ensure that everyone felt connected and that team members protected one another. This allowed us to maintain our usual high standards of work from remote locations, while also extending our clients additional support and resources, which was particularly valued during these past 6 months.

While clearly, 2021 will be tougher due to the current conditions. We hope that the Government continue to subsidise the local industry. I remain confident about the future outlook and hope that our economy recoups rapidly after COVID-19. We look forward to continuing to help our clients thrive through these ever-changing times.

Our focus should be to continue to anticipate and serve efficiently the requirements of our clients. We have to be flexible in a way that supports our staff whilst keeping in mind that we offer the best service. By embracing change and innovation, we look forward to further developing a truly modern and agile way of working to provide clients with optimum service whenever they need it.
